Murder by Death is a 1976 American mystery comedy film with a cast featuring Eileen Brennan, Truman Capote, James Coco, Peter Falk, Alec Guinness, Elsa Lanchester, David Niven, Peter Sellers, Maggie Smith, Nancy Walker, and Estelle Winwood, written by Neil Simon and directed by Robert Moore. The plot is a broad parody or spoof of the traditional country-house whodunit, familiar to mystery fiction fans of classics such as Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None. The cast is an ensemble of...

666- (Beware, The End Is At Hand) is a Nigerian film from 2007. This is a Very strange movie. A strongly Christian film, it provides extremely lurid and low-budget depictions of Hell (which looks suspiciously like a church basement) and Lucifer and his minions (nice paper-mache horns!) These scenes are intercut with (far less entertaining) interludes of a pastor entreating his flock in (what appears to be) English. Because of the strong Nigerian accents, this film could really use...

Shaitani Dracula is an ultra low budget Indian horror film, directed by Harinam Singh. This is a truly weird movie that well deserves the many World's Worst Movie nominations it has received from critics. Harinam Singh has been called the Ed Wood of India. Information is quite scarce about this film online- it is usually listed as having been made in 2006, but that doesn't seem right, somehow. Dracula, played by the director, is a fat guy with a Saddam Hussein mustache, dressed up like General...

Cango Korusuz Adam (Kilink vs Django) is a Turkish film from 1967. Although it is a Kilink film, everyone's favorite Turkish super villain has less screen time than might be hoped. Nonetheless, it's an interesting and weird film. The Turkish actors look decidedly uncomfortable with the western movie costumes and situations. They are ok with the mustaches, though. It was directed by Remzi Jonturk, and stars Tunc Oral, Figen Say and Yilmaz Koksal. This is recommended for fans of cult movies and...

Ucan Daireler Istanbulda (Flying Saucers Over Istanbul) is a Turkish sci-fi comedy from 1955. It's recommended for fans of old Turkish movies and psychotronic cult films. It has a quite different feel than the more familiar superhero films from the country like Kilink Istanbulda, etc. It more closely resembles something like Abbot and Costello On Mars, with the addition of belly dancing. Pyasa Shaitan (Thirsty Devil) is a low-budget and very weird Indian horror movie, most commonly said to have been made in 1984. Like most movies like this, there's not much information about it available in English. Joginder Shelly is the writer, director and star. Kamal Hassan co-stars. Tiga Abdul is a classic Malaysian movie from 1964, starring the legendary singer P. Ramlee. P. Ramlee could be thought of as the Malaysian Elvis. James Batman is a 1966 film from the Philippines. Batman, Robin, and James Bond join forces to battle a super villain holding the world for ransom with a nuclear weapon. It stars the famous comedian Dolphy (Rodolfo Vera Quizon) as both James Bond and Batman. Dolphy's Bond wears a hideous ill-fitting checked sport coat and a cheap hat. Wahan Ke Log (1967) is one of the earliest Indian sci-fi films. It was directed by Nisar Ahmad Ansari and stars Pradeep Kumar, Tanuja  and Nilofar. Armed with laser guns, three-fingered virtually invincible Martians collude with gangsters to invade Earth. Like all Indian films, there's plenty of musical numbers. Fans of ultra-low budget horror masks and costumes will find this a treat, as will fans of "lightning bolts" produced by manually scratching a negative. Chand Par Chadayee (Trip To Moon) is one of India's earliest sci-fi films. It was directed by T.P. Sundaram, and stars muscleman Dara Singh and the smoking-hot Helen. Although this was filmed in 1967, one could easily guess it to be much older, because of the ultra-crude effects and visual style. The Killing Of Satan is a 1983 movie from the Philippines. This is a strongly Catholic film, so much so that the opening scene involves penitents toting crosses while scourging themselves, then encountering Satan, who proceeds to give their leader the old Spinning Head treatment. Violated Paradise is a Japanese "pearl diver" movie from 1963. It could be considered a romance, travelogue, "nudie cutie" or mondo film. A young girl from remote northern Japan travels to Tokyo in hopes of becoming a geisha. In the end she becomes an ama (traditional topless pearl diver), and marries a male diver. Although this contains mild nudity, it is presented more as a cultural documentary than as exploitation. It presents an interesting picture of 1963-era Japan....

This is the last Hammer vampire movie and one of the two co-production made with Chinese Shaw Brothers company (the other being "Shatter" released the same year). Christopher Lee refused to play Dracula again and Peter Cushing is Van Helsing for the very last time. A very enjoyable mixture of Gothic Horror and Oriental Martial Arts....

War God (aka Guan Yu aka Calamity) is a 1976 Kaiju (giant monster) film from Taiwan. It was long thought to be lost. Guan Yu is an ancient Chinese god, who assumes Godzilla-like size and battles evil (and very silly looking) aliens. Great fun, once the monster battles get going. It is in Chinese with (not-too-great) English subtitles.
